In a recent study that came out not too long ago, it suggests that there might be two additional species of Tyrannosaurus aside from traditional T. rex; Tyrannosaurus imperator which is larger and older and Tyrannosaurus regina which is smaller. The Sue specimen is considered to be that of T. imperator while the Wankel specimen is considered to be T. regina. However this study is very controversial right now and hasn't been fully accepted, but if it does happen I'll welcome it. Plus it reminds me of the case with the Allosaurus specimen Big Al, how it was initially considered to be A. fragilis (the most famous species) but was later assigned to a new species now known as A. jimmadensi.
