Realistic Pokemon team

After seeing Arvalis' drawings of magmar as a shoebill I thought about what a magmortar would look like. I drew it and ended up liking the hulking bear of a shoebill that resulted. (I'll have to find the whole body sketch) It has inflatable sacks on it's back!

Sceptile was most likely inspired by leaf tailed geckos, and so was the resulting drawing. Apparently lt geckos have quite distinctive  ridges above their eyebrows, which look a lot like sceptile's. (dunno, just thought that was cool)

 Hawlucha is an interesting pokemon. It appears to be part luchador and part caracara. I obviously need more practice with drawing caracaras from a front view. Some of the patterns from hawlucha seem to line up with caracaras.

Electravire is an interesting pokemon to draw. I took a lot of inspiration from ouranguitans.

I could not figure out what to depict gallade as.  I contemplated everything from land fish to amphibian to game bird. As you will see in a linked drawing I did try to incorporate sexual mimicry in gardivoir and galade's evolutionary line. Ultimately it fell apart after that.

Tyrantrum would be too easy to draw. but I had to draw gallade first and because of that.....
the plan to draw it went extinct.

I might revisit this concept soon.
